Buyer Beware!!! While we have known for a long time that Globat is really only good for development (non-live) sites it seems that many of their customers are only now becoming aware of this fact. Please read in addition to our review from the following sites.

Overview:

Globat hosting has been around since 2002. We have found that the Globat customer service is below the industry standard as we have difficulty understanding anyone in their tech support. We suspect that they are outsourcing. We can understand their sales people and they can usually let us know when Globat is experiencing any outages. Hold times on phone and email can get a little long. We like Globat purely for the reason that they give way too much space for an ordinary web site. They are good for hosting development sites & pages that don't necessarily need to be up 24-7. If you are going to use Globat as a development server make sure that you backup your own files regularly.

Independent Customer Ratings:

Our extensive investigations indicate that user satisfaction with Globat is shaky at best. For people that are hosting live sites we have seen some very angry reviews.

5 Year Projection:

Analyzing the growth rates, customer retention, employee retention, technical infrastructure, and all historical issues, we believe that Globat may not be your best bet, unless you are looking for cheap development space. If you are looking for cheap development space you can usually find Globat heavily discounting their package rate for hosting but locking you into long term contracts.

Breaking It Down:

Growth has been soft or erratic.
Customer retention is poor.
Employee retention is average to poor.
Technical infrastructure is average.
Historical problems & outages have persisted fairly regularly.
